Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) is an organized scientific approach that focuses on analyzing, modifying and improving socially significant behaviors. ABA uses research based principles that stress the direct manipulation of environmental variables and positive reinforcement. The goal of ABA is to encourage socially acceptable behaviors while reducing aggressive, disruptive and other problematic behaviors such as tantrums, screaming and repetitive self-stimulatory behaviors.
A fun, hands-on six week program designed for elementary age children to promote effective pre-writing and printing skills using engaging lessons, developmentally appropriate activities and multi-sensory strategies. Taught by a licensed Occupational Therapist and Certified Handwriting Without Tears® handwriting specialist with a maximum of 1 to 4 ratio.
Prepare your child for success in the preschool environment. The Slomin Family Center is proud to introduce a new "Mommy and Me" program that develops purposeful play and functional communication skills for ALL children in an inclusion setting.
Individual Occupational Therapy sessions are designed to improve sensory processing, motor development, social interaction and self-confidence to maximize a child’s independence with play, learning and daily life skills. Therapy is tailored to meet the needs of each child and their family in our unique and interactive sensory room.
Personalized individual Speech and Language Therapy is designed to improve speech, language and cognitive abilities using fun, interactive lessons which incorporates engaging books, games, music and crafts. Each session is intended to promote increased confidence and self-esteem in the home, community and therapy environments.
For success in the elementary school environment. The Slomin Family Center is proud to introduce a new inclusion afterschool program to assist third and fourth grade students with reading interventions and social interactions.
